Before anything I want to introduce myself.
I’m Daniel ‘Laer’ Navarro Olmedo, a indie developer that loves the strategy games. For a long time I’ve kept my crazy ideas in a notebook, thinking that someday I’ll make them. But I always delayed it, for being lazy, because I didn’t have time or other things.
And this is how, 3 years ago my road as a videogames developer started. Testing different graphic engines, learning some programming languages, pixel art design and everything that is needed to develop a game with a little budget and by myself. After a jam(in which I made a game called Wifi Search),
I made my first game, Space Looper. Today is not possible to play, because it was more than anything a test to see if I was capable of make a full project and keep it alive on mobile takes a lot of time(update the code with each big engine update, for each android version…is a lot of work if the game doesn’t bring benefits). Just after that a big project started. That’s when the idea of the Countless Army started.
As a project very different, Countless Army was born as a Tower Defense with a different thematic. A friend, Rodrigo ‘Catzer’ Velazquez, started to listen to all my ideas, and thanks to him, I could clear all the mess of ideas that I had and it started to go on rails.
The next 2 years I worked on it, with changes between and problems…and a lot of learning. But that is another story.
